In 1997 and in response to Boeing’s decision to enter the business jet market, Airbus launched their A319 Corporate Jet, or ACJ as it is more commonly known. Whilst originally available on the Airbus narrow jet range of aircraft, they are now available in narrow and wide body versions up to and including the Airbus ACJ380-800, the largest commercial passenger aircraft in the world. Capabilities between the Airbus Corporate jet types range significantly with range and cabin volume being the most prominent differences. The smallest A318 Elite has a range of 4050 nautical miles through to the ACJ380 variant with almost 9500 nautical miles range.

Configuration of each ACJ type is based on the wishes of each client though for the most part the narrow body Airbus Corporate Jets tend to seat between 14 and 30 passengers. With less passengers on board range capability across the Airbus Corporate Jet range is increased by utilising cargo hold space for additional fuel tank capacity. Airbus have designed this feature so that it can easily revert back to the passenger airliner version thus aiding resale prospects across the market. Many governments have adopted ACJ’s to fly their officials on state business across the globe including France, Germans, Armenia, Brazil, Italy, Venezuela, Thailand, Czech Republic, Turkey and Malaysia.

To date more than 170 Airbus Corporate Jets are flying across the globe.
