Cessna Citation X

Cessna Citation X

Cessna have always battled to compete with faster business jets in the small and mid size cabin market. Their main competition has come from Learjet in the last three decades, and so in 1990 they announced the Cessna Citation X. This was to be the aircraft that changed the “slow” image of previous Citation models. With the demise of Concorde, Citation X is the fastest commercial jet flying in the world today.

In designing this aircraft, Cessna used Rolls Royce for its powerplant requirements. Producing 6,700 lbs of thrust, the Citation X has a max cruise of 527 knots and range of 3,242 nautical miles. The aircraft has a stand up cabin and can accommodate upto 9 passengers in comfort. Cessna have launched a new Citation X model with upgraded cabin facilities, new Honeywell Primus Elite avionics and more spacious cabin.

Cabin dimension are now 7.29m long, 1.73m high and 1.68m wide. It has a useful load of almost 6,500 kgs and can climb to its service ceiling of 51,000ft at a rate of 3,650 feet a minute.

Take off distance is 5,140 feet and landing distance is 2,740 feet.

New list price of a Citation X is $22.925m with used aircraft currently on the market from $4.8m.
