The Eurocopter EC135 is one of the most widely used twin engine helicopters flying in the world today. Since first deliveries began in 1996, more than 1,000 examples have been delivered. Currently in use with many police forces, air ambulance, military, corporate and private individuals.
The EC135 is available with two different powerplants, the Turbomeca Arrius engines and the Pratt and Whitney PW206 series engines. Initial maximum take off weight for the EC135P1 was around 2,630kgs though with various upgrades max take off weight has now increased to 2,980kgs with the introduction of the EC135T3 and P3 variants.
Passenger configuration is commonly for six passengers with five in the rear and one passenger alongside the pilot. Where two crew operate the aircraft then capacity is reduced to five passengers in total.
The EC135 has a range of 395 nautical miles, and a cruise speed of 137 knots. The EC135 has a high service ceiling at 20,000ft and can climb at 1,500 feet a minute.
Recent bespoke editions of the EC135 have been introduced with a notable contribution from French fashion house, Hermes.
Used EC135 cabins can be seen in the market from $2.5m with new aircraft available at $4.2m
