Learjet 45

Learjet 45

The Learjet 45 first flew in 1995 and over 430 have been delivered since this time. Typically configured in two Club 4 seating configurations the Lear 45 has the ability to transport eight passengers with two crew. The Lear 45 is powered by two Honeywell TFE731-20 engines. This aircraft also has the benefit of an APU so that systems such as air conditioning, lighting etc can still function when the main engines are powered down. The Lear 45 has excellent load carrying ability with a separate hold available for luggage. This aircraft will cruise at 434 knots with range of around 1,700 nautical miles.

In 2008 Bombardier released an updated version of this highly sought after aircraft, the Lear 45XR. The XR has range extended to almost 2,000 nautical miles cruising at 440 knots.

For trips of up to four hours duration with six to eight passengers on board, the Lear 45 and 45XR represent excellent value for money. For a long time the Lear 45 was the backbone of many aircraft charter fleets offering the benefits of large aircraft capacity with mid size jet prices. New Learjet 45 aircraft are available at $11.5m with used aircraft on the market at prices from $2.5m.
